いっぱいカーボンティシュを作っています。　
Making lots of carbon tissues..

この黄楊の櫛はカーボンプリントのピグメントを広げてならすために使ってます。　昔とても気に入って買いました。当時の職人さんが、跡継ぎがいないといって嘆いていたのを覚えています。　とても貴重な伝統工芸品。　それを１００円の櫛でも代用できるようなことに使っていいものかとも思いましたが、私にとって今やっている写真技法はある意味伝統工芸に近いものがあるので、あまりもったいない気がしません。

This beautiful boxwood comb is what I bought a long time ago, being fascinated by its delicate work and now used to even the pigment of carbon tissues on the paper. I remember that the artisan was concerning about having no successor of this traditional craft.
I know I shouldn’t use such an valuable comb for making carbon tissues (which $1 comb will do) but what I’m doing is sort of traditional works so I think I’m ok.

先日購入したSandy Kingさんの本から作ったカーボンティシュでプリントテスト。
プリントは失敗してますが、ティシュそのものはくるんくるん丸まらなくて、なかなかいい感じです。　プリントの画像が薄いのはたぶん露光不足。　夕方ほとんど日が暮れかけてるときに３０分露光しましたが、UVが足りなかったようです。
この湿板ネガもそろそろ見飽きたので、そろそろ新しいネガを作りたいと思います。

Test prints with new carbon tissue from Sandy’s book. The prints didn’t go well but tissue itself was pretty good without curling. Faded images could have been caused by a lack of UV lights as I exposed the negatives late afternoon, almost evening time for 30min.
I’m getting bored with this negative so will make a new one soon.

今日は試しにネガではなくポジからプリントしてみました。　ポジは普通のアンブロタイプです。
濃度が足りず、フラットな画像になりました。
For a trial purpose, I made carbon print from wet plate positive, not negative.
It doesn’t have enough contrast..

先日やっとまともな(?) カーボンプリントができました。 もちろん湿板ネガからです。　

でもユポ紙でない紙を使ったらこの後ヨレヨレになってしまったので、ドライマウントプレスがほしいです。（ユポの威力はすごいです。）

I made a carbon print from the wet plate negative I made last time.
This is not perfect at all but somehow I like it so I put it on the wall.
